SOCIO ECONOMIC PROFILE
General Feature
The Barangay was politically subdivided into seven Puroks (district) in 1982. The purok may include one or more “sitios”. The Barangay Flower is “Cactus” and the Barangay Bird is “Limocon”. Barangay’s time zone is the Philippine Standard Time (UTC +8 hours) and the area code is +6338.
The barangay is located about 9 km from Poblacion, Mabini. Distance from Mabini poblacion to Tagbilaran City, the provincial capital is 104 km.
The easily identifiable landmark of the barangay is Mt. Haboog, a beautiful mountain, part of the chocolate hills chain in Bohol Island. Being part of the chocolate hills, it is also considered as a natural monument, a protected area under a Presidential proclamation.
Housing
In 2010, there were 123 and 77 housing units with light materials and mixed materials, respectively. There were 174 households who owned the lot against 26 households who rented lot.

Health, Nutrition and Social Welfare
The barangay has one barangay health/nutrition station with one midwife and 11 barangay health workers. There were 200 households with sanitary toilets in 2012. Also, there were 38 households with a comfort room built-in their housing units. No record on leading causes of morbidity or mortality.
There were only 9 malnourished children reported by BHC.
The municipal ambulance, the Mabini Emergency Rescue Unit, stationed at the Poblacion, serves the whole municipality in cases of emergencies.
Social development sector includes the minimum basic needs services and facilities such as: education, health and nutrition, housing, social welfare and protective services. There is one public elementary school with 156 pupils from Grade I to Grade VI in 2009.
There is one public high school with 195 students from Grade 7 to 4th year in school year 2012-2013. There was one public Day Care Center serving 33 preschoolers in 2012. The barangay had one Barangay Outpost with eleven Tanods as of 2012.

The number of population in the barangay was enumerated at 1,159 (216 households) in 2009 and this grew to 1,343 (240 households) in 2012. The number of families was recorded at 262 in 2009 and increased to 295 in 2012. During the three population census period, the number of males slightly outnumbered the females.

Electric power is supplied by the Bohol Electric Grid through the Ubay substation. There were 141 households in the barangay served with electricity.

There are two sources of water in the barangay: Improvised spring with reservoir and 7 deep wells. In 2010, there were 17, 147 and 52 households served with Level III, II. I water systems, respectively.
