LUNGSODAAN MABINI TUBOD CAVESThe are three Caves in sitio Tubod, about 1.5 km from the Barangay Center. One cave is located at the back of the Tubod Spring. The other caves are further behind Tubod Spring at the walls of the Bawangan-Naasug Mountain range that extends toward Popoog Point in the east. These caves served as the hiding areas (“bakwitan”) during the Japanese occupation era. The is also another cave located at the western side of the Bawangan Mountain. This cave was used as a burial site during ancient times. There were burial remains but where exploited by local tomb raiders. Before it was looted, the burial coffin bore an ancient writing “Sumatra”.
